Automated Archiving – and Much More

Kilde Automation’s Archiving System, also known as Slide Manager at Axlab, automates and streamlines the handling of microscope slides in modern hospital laboratories today.
Its flexible and modular design makes it easy to adapt the system to a wide range of other items beyond slides—such as samples, articles, products, and much more—that require traceable storage or simply need automated efficiency.
Today, the system can be modularly configured to handle and archive between 15,000 and 34,000 slides.
What does the system automate today?
Receiving and registering slides
The system receives slides with cancer tissue samples from the lab workstations and automatically registers them in the integrated system with full traceability.
Transport and placement in the archive
Using automated robotic arms and an intelligent placement system, the slides are transported and stored in the optimal location—completely without manual handling.
Automated slide retrieval
Need to locate a specific slide? The system automatically finds and returns the desired slide with high precision—no time wasted on manual searches.
Integration with LIS systems
Slide Manager communicates directly with the laboratory’s information systems, ensuring accurate data transfer and minimal risk of human error.
Flexibility and scalability
Whether you run a small research lab or a large hospital, Slide Manager can be scaled and customized to match your specific needs.
